PLSMFG began in 1942 as Indiana Wire Die. Through the innovation and invention of its founder, Otis G. Ferrier, the company quickly became a leader in the wire drawing die industry.
Under the leadership of Dale O. Ferrier, IWD bought its first laser in 1972. Shortly thereafter, a need for contract laser drilling was discovered and Precision Laser Services was begun to fill that need. As the country’s first laser job shop, PLS grew rapidly and was instrumental in many of the early industrial applications of lasers including: jet turbine hole drilling, medical device laser welding, laser cutting and exotic material processing.
Over the next three decades, PLSMFG has continuously expanded through growth and acquisitions, enhancing its capabilities in precision metal fabrication, CNC machining, CNC turning, robotic welding Mig/Tig, stamping, assembly, etc.
